Arevare Beach, GANPATIPULE
Arevare Beach - The word Arevare has a funny ring to it in Marathi. That there is a village by this name and it is blessed with a heavenly seashore with a clear view for miles across the blue waters was not known to many. But thanks to the new, shorter road being built to connect Ratnagiri and Ganpatipule, Arevare has found a place for itself on the tourism map of Konkan. At Arevare, the road travels past a 100 feet high cliff, below which sea waves lap ferociously without pause. In fact, the road hugs the seashore for a length of some 7 - 8 Km. As of now, there are no amenities available and tourists are greeted only by diving sea gulls and barren cliifs. If g
tting away from the urban mayhem is on your mind, Arevare has just the right touch of edgy adventure to it. The location looks tailor-made for picturisation of DHOOM III or even BAYWATCH. So wroom up, guys!! Unadulterated excitement awaits you...!! The road is ideal for both, a high-speed drive or just a lazy amble for a mile or two - depending on the kind of person you are. But avoid the place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. as it gets quite warm. Wannabe sunbathers will also love the beaches that extend either side of the hill. There are no water-sports facilities at the spot right now,. But given the location, it is just a matter of time before these come up.
